Default Is touch of agony any good?

Finished my hammer warrior so Ive decided to make a blood necro.

The skills Ive decided on are...

Blood Transfer
Blood Siphon
Vampiric Gaze
Vampiric touch
Shadow strike
Dark pact
???
???

The last two im stuck on which leads to my question. Is touch of agony any good? I mean armor ignoring damage is a plus right? Maybe Unholy Feast for the last one? I dunno all help is welcomed. Many Thanks in advance.

In a Greneth's Balance build it can be pretty useful, since low Health becomes a resource in such a build. However, I'd be more inclined to use those last two slots on a rez and a utility skill. Then again, I'm kind of a cowardly Necromancer, so I got rid of Vampiric Touch as quickly as I could. Melee? It's not for me!

Good luck with your Necro,
cmb

touch of agony is used A LOT in AotL builds.

you pretty much use aura of the lich and dark aura, get a health regen going (blood renewal), and go up to the enemy, spamming touch of agony and dark pact for nearly 100 damage per spell...

kicks warrior ass...

It depends on the build you are running. Touch of Agony is a decent skill, but only works in the right build. I would not suggest running it with the skills you have. In addition it would help to know if you were making a pvp or pve build.

The big problem with your current build is that your energy is going to run dry incredibly fast. If you use vampic touch at all you will be out of energy faster than the average pve battle lasts.

If you run blood I highly suggest running offering of blood as your elite. While Life Transfer does alright damage with OoB you can spread life siphon to multiple enemies with great easy. In the end your damage will be spread out, but far surpass what you would do from a single life transfer. In addition you want to utilize more than one line of skills to make a strong build.

In addition, I would highly suggest looking at some of the blood support skills. If used properly they are monsterous. You will find your allies quite like Blood Ritual or Blood is Power.

Right now your necro suffers from stradling two styles of play. Decide if you want to use blood nukes or hexes and then build from there.

I agree with everything stated but would clarify the last paragraph...from the rest of the entry I believe this is the meaning: Decide if your elite will be Life Transfer or Offering of Blood. With LT you want more hexes to layer it, keep hex removal from taking LT off and then use sac skills to pound. With Offering of Blood with all the mana you have at your disposal hexes in general are underpowered...better to just spam high damage spells. Also I would add one more thing...decide if you want to play up close for more damage but greater risk and less versitilty...or farther away. Touch vs Gaze for example. Having both I find muddles things up somewhat but can be done if you have some experience.

BTW: with life steal I find armor to be less of a consideration...especially with life regen offerd by LT and LS...so go with scars and get all the mana you can. 20 base + 17 full scars + 12 focus + 5 wand = 54 max possibe without losing regen

There's only one build that I think can justify using TOA and that's the ranger/necro toucher.
